Solar Incentives
- Warning: Most IRS websites have not been updated with the changes due to the passing of H.R. 1 in July 2025. This bill eliminated residential tax credits for solar and phases out commercial tax credits. Solar is still a good investment!
- Residential: $500 rebate from PECO
- Commercial: The PECO solar incentive is $0.10/kWh, based on net solar kWh production over a one-year period and capped at the project cost.
- Commercial: 30% Federal Credit available through 2027 (Leasing companies can utilize this credit for residential properties)

Solar water heaters -- sometimes called solar domestic hot water systems -- can be a cost-effective way to generate hot water for your home. They can be used in any climate, and the fuel they use -- sunshine -- is free.
How They Work
Solar water heating systems include storage tanks and solar collectors. There are two types of solar water heating systems: active, which have circulating pumps and controls, and passive, which don't.
